Jeff Andrews started FAE as a Principal Engineer and Vice President. He brought a strong industrial and design background with experience in environmental engineering and lean processes. As the company began to grow, FA Engineering’s principals focused on building a company with longevity in the community.
FA Engineering was started after K&F Engineers was dissolved in 2010. K&F Engineers was a consulting engineering firm established in 1983 by Jitendra Kalyani and Richard Feuerborn. The success of K&F was determined by requests for additional services from satisfied clients. The can-do attitude and competence resulted in client loyalty that brought repeat business for many years.
K&F remained a small firm with an average staff of about 13. With their small, but qualified and experienced team, K&F was capable of providing a wide range of services to industrial clients. The industries served include food processing, mining & minerals processing, and fertilizer and chemical plants. K&F disbanded in 2010, and Richard joined with Jeff Andrews to start FA Engineering (FAE).
Jeremy Phelps, a Mechanical Engineer, started with the company in 2012. He worked as an Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager for six years, consistently carrying the highest profit margin and project load in the company. In early 2018, Jeremy was offered a position as a Principal and joined Jeff and Richard in ownership. He ushered in the next generation of leaders for FAE employees. Jeremy carries a sense of efficiency and quality to the team, focused on mentorship for new employees.
We value honesty, open minds, teamwork, dedication, tolerance, and laughter. To fulfill our mission, we place our client relationship as our utmost priority. A multi-discipline approach helps us identify issues quickly and resolve them efficiently, keeping your projects on schedule and within budget. Above all else, we value the simple principle of treating all involved in our projects with respect and dignity.
FA Engineering makes an ongoing effort to enhance a work culture. We practice Open Book Management and share all financial information and projections with our employees weekly. We feel that by encouraging our staff to “act like owners” empowers them to act decisively in the field. Clients often note that our employees make decisions quickly and efficiently. Our team is highly motivated, which energizes their dedication to achieving superior results for clients. We take pride in mentoring our drafters, designers, and engineers for long-term continuity of service.
We are uncovering better ways of developing designs and drawings by doing the work and helping others do the same. Through this work we have come to value:
That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.
